A unique fusion of a multitude of art-forms combining kinetic sculptures with synchronised soundtrack and lighting design. This unique showcase, presented by Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre for the first time in England, brings an extraordinary fusion of kinetic sculptures, music, and lighting to mesmerise visitors of all ages. Founded by artist Eduard Bersudsky, Sharmanka has captivated audiences worldwide with its intricate mechanical sculptures that tell evocative stories through movement and sound. Originating in Russia and now based in Glasgow, Sharmanka’s work is renowned for its poetic and often dark narratives. However, Merry-Go-World introduces a playful and nostalgic dimension to Bersudsky’s artistry, transforming discarded machinery and scrap into mesmerising moving installations. Admission to the exhibition is included with your museum entry or annual pass. However, visitors are encouraged to reserve their time slot in advance through The Beacon Museum’s website, as availability for same-day bookings is limited. Each session lasts 30 minutes, beginning with a 15-minute opportunity to explore the gallery and discover Sharmanka’s fascinating history, followed by a 15-minute kinetic performance. In addition to this fascinating kinetic show, we’re also excited to present We Think the World of You – Dogs and People Drawn Together by David Remfry MBE RA, which will be running from 5 April – 22 June 2025.
