We are at the start or end of Hadrian’s Wall depending on which way you want to walk the trail and on the coast to coast cycle route. Furthermore, the village is steeped in history from being invaded by the Romans Vikings and the Border Revivers. St Michaels church is a must see when visiting the village, steeped in history and mainly built from Roman stone from the wall and |Fort. There is a RSPB site located 2 miles away, plus the beautiful Solway coast for keen bird watchers. We are around 25 minutes from Carlisle and 45 minutes from the Lake District. Our accommodation comprises of 10 bed and breakfast rooms, 5 self catering apartments, 4 shepherds huts with the option to hire a hot tub, 1 holiday cottage and a bunk room that sleeps 9. Our campsite has camper van pitches with the option of electric hook up points, electric and non-electric tent pitches. There are laundry facilities located in the campsite toilet block.
