30 just matters, init. Like there’s no doubt you’re a proper adult then. Like 25 to 29 is just training but 30, it’s real.

Tunde’s 30th birthday is fast approaching. So, he’s just started therapy because he hasn’t been able to get to the gym for weeks and a recent one-night stand ended in tears – his.

Interrogating the challenge of opening up and accepting our own vulnerabilities, SESSIONS by Ifeyinwa Frederick is a raw, funny, bittersweet deep-dive into the complexities of masculinity, depression and therapy.

This new play by Ifeyinwa Frederick is one of the 2019 Soho Six – a year-long attachment programme for artists run by Soho Theatre.

Presented by Paines Plough, who brought Pop Music to Rosehill in 2018 and I Wanna Be Yours in 2019.

Direct from the Edinburgh Fringe comes a comedy-and-cooking show from award-winning stand-up George Egg, who makes real gourmet food live on stage!

In his first show, Anarchist Cook, George made a meal in a hotel room with the complimentary appliances. In his second, DIY Chef, he was stuck in a shed cooking with tools. In Movable Feast, he’s on the road!

It’s time for Planes, Trains and Automob-meals (sorry!).

During an evening of live cooking and laugh-out-loud comedy about making food on the move, George demonstrates ways to procure items from the train buffet trolley, beat the rip-off restaurant prices at the airport and even shows you how to turn unexpected roadworks into a picnic.

It’s cheeky, anarchic and creative, a multi-sensory show rich in humour and sprinkled with handy hacks.

This is gourmet food cooked live in the most unconventional ways and with the opportunity to taste the results at the end, provided you can stop laughing…

Sally Barker

Sally Barker is a British singer and songwriter, known for her solo work and as a founding member of the Poozies. In 2014, she was a finalist in the BBC One talent contest The Voice, finishing in joint second place

In June 2020 Sally uploaded a YouTube video of her re-imagining of the Tom Jones song ‘It’s Not Unusual’ to celebrate the venerable singer’s 80th Birthday. So far it has racked up 1.8 million views and divides opinion amongst fans of the Welshman’s classic. She subsequently released her slowed down version, that highlights the mournful and yearning lyrics to give the song new meaning, as a download single. The significance of this recording? Sally was Tom’s finalist on The Voice UK in 2014 and although people mistakenly think she won, such was the impact she had on that show, Sally walked away without the main prize coming in joint 2nd.

Christine Bovill threads her remarkable journey in the world of French song with the life and works of Edith Piaf.

No glamour. No gimmicks. No pretence. Nothing but a voice, singing of life’s triumphs and tragedies. Christine Bovill’s Piaf is both a personal narrative and a powerful musical homage to one of France’s most endearing icons.

An award-winning songwriter in her own right, Christine has toured throughout Europe with her self-penned homage to the Little Sparrow, appearing on BBC News, ITV and on BBC Radio 4’s series Soul Music.

During her sold-out run at the famous Spiegeltent, as part of the 2012 Edinburgh Festival, Christine realised a lifelong dream when she shared the stage with Charles Dumont, great friend of Piaf and, most famously, composer of Non, Je ne Regrette Rien. They performed several songs together to close the show. The publicity around the event drew articles from the national press, culminating in Christine’s live appearance on BBC’s Newsnight, as a finale to the festival review programme.

Piaf was awarded the Fringe laurels for Total Sell Out Show 2011 and 2012 and received five-star reviews from some of the most respected publications, including The Scotsman.

Dracula's Guest

Rosehill Theatre
Rosehill Theatre, Whitehaven CA28 6SE, UK

Brother Wolf productions return to Rosehill with the ultimate Halloween story, Dracula’s Guest.

Based on the works of Bram Stoker.

Adapted, produced and directed by James Hyland.

Dracula.

An ancient creature, embittered by the burden of immortality and the intolerance of those who would decry him monster. Alone in his keep, but for the memories of centuries past. A living death that only a vampire could understand. Or perhaps a special guest or two. Providing they can live long enough to survive their host’s unique hospitality and his deliberate attempts to drive them insane.

Based on the bone-chilling works of Bram Stoker, Dracula’s Guest takes you into the dark heart of Victorian horror to reveal the very meaning of terror and the consequences of collective evil and personal spite.
