Our Gala Celebration for River Esk’s 100th Birthday will be running over the weekend of 29th/30th April and 1st May.
We will be running a full (yellow) timetable with day and weekend rover tickets available to allow passengers to hop on and off different trains. ‘Samson’ will be visiting from Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway to help celebrate alongside most of our resident steam and diesel engines including ‘Katie’ from the museum.
Other exciting activities include signal box tours, 100th cupcakes for sale in our cafes, in the work shop we will have Stuart Harrison and his miniature railway, the museum is also hosting a special exhibition focussing on River Esk’s 100-year story, make a ‘coal cake’ competition and more will be announced on our website & social media nearer the time. Tickets can be booked in advance or purchase on the day at Ravenglass or Dalegarth stations.
