2021 is Cumbria’s Year of the Coast and what better way to celebrate that than to get out into the great outdoors and explore this wonderful area.

To help you, we have some free downloadable walking routes around the St Bees area of the Western Lake District. Click on the links below to view and download the routes, then explore this great part of Cumbria.

St. Bees Circular Walk 1

A gentle 2.2 mile (3.5 km) circular walk down the coast and back through the village that will take you around 90 minutes.


St. Bees Circular Walk 2

A short circular walk, 2 miles (3km), that will take around 60 minutes, taking in the beach, Scalebarrow Brow and the Dandy Walk.


St. Bees Circular Walk 3

A choice of two walks on St. Bees Head – Fleswick Bay (2 hours, 3 miles) and Around the head (4.5 hours, 7 miles); plus 3 other options.


St. Bees Circular Walk 4

A medium walk of 4 miles (6km) taking around 2 hours. From Sea Mill to Caulderton and the coastal path.


St. Bees Circular Walk 5

A medium walk of 3 miles (5km) taking around 2 hours. Loughrigg, St. Bees Common and Outrigg.


St. Bees Circular Walk 6

A medium walk of 3 miles (5km) taking around 2 hours. To Rottington Hall and back via the Byerstead Road.

A walk up Wood Lane Stanley Pond, with two routes back, taking either 2 hours or 2.5 hours.
